International Festival of Classic Guitar
This annual festival features great classic guitar players

March-April
Festival of the Trays (Easter 2007)
This festival takes place every 4years and is an unforgettable event featuring the blessing of the trays and the procession of the trays carried by hundreds of young girls on their heads. The street decorations, the quilts on the windows and the rain of flowers over the parade are a suggestive sight.

International Independent Film Festival
This festival taking place in April aims to discover films and new directors in the realm of independent film.

World Amateur Golf Festival
10-day festival of golf at several Costa Azul and Estoril-Sintra courses

Tennis Estoril Open
The ATP/WTA Estoril Open marks the start of clay court season.

Bullfighting Opening Season
The opening of Bullfighting season that runs from May to September takes place at the Campo Pequeno. The 10000-seater bullring is one of the  largest in the world and features an impressive Moorish architecture as well as an eventful calendar of corridas.

June
Cascais Sailing Week
Sailing week sponsored by the Estoril Coast Tourist Board taking place every year in Cascais Bay.

Lisbon Festivities
The celebrations of Popular Saints in Lisbon from the 12the to the 30th of June include street decorations, paper lanterns and parades in each district with live music and dancing. In the evening people party on the streets of the Alfama district where sardines are grilled outside the houses.

European Wave Freestyle Funboard Champions
Annual surfing competition at Guincho Beach in June-July with best surfers from around the world taking part.

July
Obidos Medieval Market
Historical showcase in the Castle of Obidos recreates a medieval atmosphere. The festival features horse tournaments, medieval shows and arts and crafts exhibitions.

Jazz on a Summer’s Day
Jazz Festival taking place during the first two weeks in July at the Cascais’ Pamela Park Auditorium.

Estoril Music Festival
Five weeks of concerts in Estoril during July and August.

August
Estoril Coast International Dogs Show
Prestigious dog show that features hundreds of dogs from Portugal and abroad been assessed and awarded prizes from an international jury.

September
Portugal’s Moto Grand Prix
Estoril Moto GP includes races for 125cc, 250cc and 500cc bikes.

November
International Horse Week
Golf is one of most popular sports in Portugal with 9 great golf courses in Estoril and Sintra.

National horse Fair
This important horse fair takes place at the beginning of November in conjunction with celebration of All Saints. The event features equestrian activities including competitions, games, exhibitions, parade and a fairground.
